๐โโ๏ธ Everyone gets an AI assistant
The transition from text-based chatbots to voice-activated systems and even video clones is witnessing an exponential rise, as a burgeoning number of individuals and businesses harness the AI trend to monetize their virtual innovations. A prime example of this is Caryn Marjorie, a 23-year-old influencer with a massive following of 1.8 million on Snapchat. She has recently demonstrated the potential of the AI realm in a way that is poised to be adopted by businesses and individuals alike in the near future.
Marjorie, who in collaboration with a group of skilled developers, utilized 2,000 hours of her YouTube content in conjunction with OpenAI's GPT-4 technology to craft a "virtual girlfriend" (her term). This AI-powered iteration of the influencer is now available for hire. Users willing to pay a fee of $1 per minute of interaction, reminiscent of the 1-800 model from the late 80s, can engage in a private chat, with the option for more intimate interactions, with CarynAI. In its first week of beta testing alone, this venture has accrued $71,610 from a predominantly male user base, and it has the potential to generate up to $5 million per month if just over 1% of her followers become paying subscribers.
As the implementation of AI assistants, companions, and other features becomes more streamlined and efficient, we can all anticipate having one or even several AI assistants to aid us with mundane daily tasks and to monetize our endeavors. The fierce competition in this burgeoning industry also bodes well for users, promising continual enhancements and upgrades. This is already evident with ChatGPT's recent roll-out of 70+ plugins for its premium users, set to trigger a surge in automation capabilities.
Tools to create your own ChatBot:
Wisebot.app - Build an AI Chatbot on your content base & predictably drive more engagement
Chatbase.co - Custom ChatGPT for your website
Chatthing.ai - Create AI chatbots powered by your data that you can use anywhere
OpenAi-bot.com - Become a superhuman with the power of AI
OpenAI has announced the rollout of over 70 third-party plugins, or "eyes and ears," for its ChatGPT Plus users. Initially tested in a limited alpha phase, these plugins significantly augment ChatGPT's capabilities, allowing users to delegate a variety of tasks to it.
Upon subscribing to ChatGPT Plus, which costs $20 per month, users will find the plugins under "Beta Features" in their settings. These plugins allow the AI to perform tasks such as parsing through website content, visualizing and analyzing data, and aiding in learning foreign languages. They can be applied to various industries and activities, including shopping, real estate, stocks, travel, and food.
However, there are certain limitations: users can install as many plugins as they want, but can only use three at a time. Some plugins, like "AskYourPDF" and "ChatWithPDF," allow ChatGPT to parse through PDF documents from provided URLs, but they do not accept local files from a user's computer.

๐ฅ Googleโs Sundar Pichai talks Search, AI, and dancing with Microsoft - Exclusive Interview. (link)
In this interview with Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet, he discusses a range of topics related to Google's vision, its ongoing projects, and the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the future of the company and the broader tech industry. Here are some key points:
New Generative AI Features: Google has introduced new generative AI features in virtually all of the company's products. A standout feature for Pichai is the "Search Generative Experience" they are working on, which he sees as an exciting evolution of Google's most used and most important productโโ.
Structural Changes at Google: Pichai has reorganized Google and Alphabet's AI teams. DeepMind, previously a separate entity, has been moved inside Google and merged with the Google Brain AI group to form a new unit called Google DeepMind.
AI and Email: Pichai talked about the use of generative AI in composing emails, discussing how societal norms will evolve to determine where AI assistance is appropriate. He shared an example of a Gmail feature where AI can write an email to request a refund from an airline, and reflected on the need for balance to avoid situations where AI-generated emails are responded to by AI.
AI as a Platform Shift: Pichai views AI as an extraordinary platform shift that will touch every sector, industry, and aspect of our lives. He compares this to the shifts brought about by personal computing, the internet, and mobile technologies. He believes that AI's impact will be more profound, affecting even sectors like healthcare, which may not have been significantly impacted by previous shifts.
