💰 AI Startups Make Waves with Major Acquisitions and Funding Rounds (Link)

Last week was a huge statement for the growing value and interest in generative AI startups. By far this technology is very different from web3 and Crypto as there are unlimited use cases today for it. two major AI startups were acquired and three large AI funding rounds took place, generating excitement in the generative AI sector.

MosaicML, a generative AI platform, was acquired by Databricks for $1.3 billion. Casetext, a legal technology company utilizing ChatGPT, was purchased by Thomson Reuters for $650 million. Inflection, an empathetic language model startup, raised $1.3 billion at a $4 billion valuation, with notable participants including Microsoft, Nvidia, Bill Gates, and Eric Schmidt. Runway, an AI-powered video editing company, secured $141 million in funding, while Typeface, an AI content creation company, raised $100 million.

We are still early in the generative Ai space and we will continue to see mergers and acquisition of this size and many startups making waves.
