The ball-park isn’t the only place to look for home runs. Best Buy has a proven record of placing early bets on home-tech products that go on to dominate the market.

  • Ring - acquired by Amazon for $1.2B

  • Nest - acquired by Google for $3.2B

Early investors in these companies are sitting on some serious returns - but for the rest of us, there's still a chance to get in on the action with RYSE.

History tends to repeat itself, and RYSE's launch in +100 Best Buys points towards their company being the next home run.

Their Smart Shade tech is poised to dominate an industry growing at 50% annually, and there's still time to invest in their $1.50/share public offering.

The FTC’s Voice Cloning Challenge recently spotlighted innovative solutions to the rising threat of audio deepfakes, awarding three teams for their groundbreaking approaches. These winning methods illustrate the diverse and multifaceted strategies needed to tackle the sophisticated issue of voice cloning.

Winners of the FTC’s Voice Cloning Challenge:

  • OriginStory: Developed a microphone that verifies human speech at the source using biosignals, attaching a watermark during recording.

  • AI Detect: Proposed by OmniSpeech, this approach uses embedded machine learning algorithms in devices to detect AI-generated voices in real time.

  • DeFake: An AI tool from Washington University that adds tiny perturbations to human voice recordings to make precise cloning difficult.

These pioneering solutions underscore the importance of a multipronged approach to combat the evolving dangers posed by audio deepfakes. As these technologies develop further, we may be able to come up with more solutions, to the point of your cell phone telling you if you are talking to a real person, a bot, or a cloned voice.

Anthropic AI Agents Are Here.

Anthropic has introduced a new feature for its AI chatbot, Claude, called "tool use" or "function calling." Basically an AI Agent that allows users to create personalized bots for tasks like buying shoes or reading emails by connecting to any external API. The tool can also analyze images for applications like virtual interior design. Available through Anthropic’s Messages API, Amazon Bedrock, and Google Vertex AI, pricing is based on text volume processed.

The tool still requires from coding, but expect many apps to be introduced to the market to help us streamline the use of it.

Click here to learn more about it and here to learn how to use it.

Beta testing since April with thousands of customers has shown promising applications, such as Study Fetch’s personalized AI tutor, Spark.E. This feature aligns with the broader trend of developing AI assistants for various tasks.

Tech Giants Unite to Challenge Nvidia with New AI Interconnect Standard.

On Thursday, major tech companies including Google, Intel, Microsoft, Meta, AMD, Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, Cisco, and Broadcom announced the formation of the Ultra Accelerator Link (UALink) Promoter Group. This group aims to develop a new interconnect standard for AI accelerator chips in data centers, providing an alternative to Nvidia's proprietary NVLink technology. The UALink 1.0 standard is designed to connect up to 1,024 GPUs within a single computing pod, enhancing speed and reducing data transfer latency. The group plans to establish the UALink Consortium later in 2024 to manage ongoing development, with an improved UALink 1.1 version expected by Q4 2024.
