Autonomous AI-Powered Fighter Jets Near Deployment

European defense start-up Helsing has successfully tested its AI software flying a Gripen E fighter jet over the Baltic Sea, signaling that uncrewed fighter jets could be operational within a few years.

This is the result of world leaders solving all their issues with war and prioritizing the so-called ā€œDefenseā€ companies and ā€œDefenseā€ budgets. The company’s AI, Centaur, achieved the equivalent of 1 million flight hours in 72 hours, vastly surpassing human capabilities. While a human safety pilot was present during tests, Helsing envisions a future where AI-assisted and fully autonomous jets coexist, gradually shifting the roles of pilots. Backed by €600 million in funding (including from Spotify’s Daniel Ek), Helsing is also supplying 10,000 drones to Ukraine, although some have criticized its performance and cost. Garbage in, garbage out. We hope these AI models are well-trained. There can be no rogue behavior that can put lives in danger, especially in civilian-sensitive zones.

The Browser Battle Is Now an AI War

AI companies are redefining what it means to browse the internet. OpenAI is reportedly launching its own AI browser in the coming weeks, aiming to rival Google Chrome by deeply integrating ChatGPT and its Operator agent. This follows the recent launch of Comet by Perplexity, a browser designed to replace tabs, links, and clutter with context-aware, conversational browsing.

Meanwhile, Google is enhancing its Circle to Search and AI Mode on 300M+ Android devices, allowing users to dive deeper into topics, get gaming help, and interact with AI overlays in real time. This is part of Google’s broader push with Gemini, its flagship AI model embedded into Search, Lens, and mobile apps.

How AI Browsers Are Changing the Game

Pros of AI-Driven Browsers

  • Speeds up research, comparisons, and tasks

  • Reduces context-switching and tab fatigue

  • Personalized assistance without app-hopping

  • Built-in reasoning to explore deeper or adjacent topics

Cons and Concerns

  • Accuracy still a challenge (AI hallucinations)

  • Centralizes user data under AI vendors

  • Could reduce traditional web traffic (bad for publishers)

  • Privacy and transparency concerns around content sourcing

Who Can Win the AI Browser War?

  • OpenAI: With ChatGPT, Operator, and now a rumored browser, it has conversational dominance and Microsoft backing. Weak on native device access.

  • Perplexity: Fast-growing, product-focused, and highly trusted for factual accuracy. Lacks scale and ecosystem integration.

  • Google: Still the default for billions. Gemini + Chrome + Android gives it unmatched reach and data. But it faces disruption if AI-native experiences like Comet or ChatGPT shift user habits away from link-based search.

Can Google Be Beaten?

Possible, but won’t be easy. Google has:

  • The world’s largest search dataset

  • The most distribution power (Chrome, Android, Search)

  • Rapidly improving models via Gemini

OpenAI and Perplexity are attacking the UX layer, making AI-first interaction more natural and useful. If they succeed in reshaping how people engage with the web (from search to cognition), they can pull users away from Google, especially on desktops and productivity apps.

The browser is becoming your AI co-pilot for thinking, researching, and doing. The company that best combines accuracy, usability, and agentic utility will likely dominate the next era of web interaction.

🧰 AI Tools

AI Browsers.

Besides the above mentioned tech behemoths launching AI browsers, these are smaller players making waves in the search space.

  • DIA (Arc): Takes multitasking and task delegation to the next level—turning a browser into an AI productivity hub.

  • You.com & Brave Leo: Push privacy-preserving AI search and summaries, appealing to users concerned about surveillance capitalism.

  • Opera Aria: Targets users who want built-in AI without switching tools.

  • Rewind.ai: Leans into total memory recall + AI for hyper-contextual assistance, blurring lines between browser and assistant.

The AI browser war is no longer just about search; it’s about who can integrate AI deeply and seamlessly into how people think, act, and decide online. Expect the winning players to:

  • Combine multimodal input (voice, vision, text)

  • Offer agentic AI that handles full tasks, not just info

  • Respect privacy and transparency as trust becomes key

  • Build ecosystems, not just tools (apps, APIs, assistants)

GenAI Shopping Assistants Surging During Prime Day

Prime Day event is here, and Generative AI is expected to play a major role in online shopping during Amazon’s event (July 8–11), which is forecasted to generate $23.8 billion in U.S. e-commerce sales, a 28.4% YoY increase.

Adobe reports that traffic from GenAI tools will spike 3,200% compared to last year, marking a sharp rise in consumers using AI for product research, recommendations, deal hunting, and shopping list creation. While still smaller than paid search and email, GenAI's influence is growing fast, with 92% of users saying it improved their purchase experience. Platforms like Google Gemini and ChatGPT are integrating shopping features, fueling this shift.

Mobile will drive over 52% of total sales, and top discounts are expected in apparel and back-to-school categories.
