The Robotics Revolution.

While the West debates energy strategies, China is rapidly cementing its dominance in robotics and automation. In 2020, Chinese firms controlled 30% of the global robotics market. Today in 2025, experts predict they hold a 65% market share, overtaking Japan and Germany in industrial robot density.

Robotics seem to be the future of manufacturing, logistics, and artificial intelligence-driven labor. A country that masters robotics manufacturing can gain the ability to dominate global production lines.

China’s industrial policy, driven by initiatives like "Made in China 2025", has led to aggressive expansion in the robotics sector. The government is funding AI-powered robotics, pouring billions into humanoid development, and accelerating its autonomous factory networks.

China installed 276,000 industrial robots in 2023 alone—more than the USA, Germany, Japan, and South Korea combined, that was when they had 50% share. If we add 15% to that number, they are sitting in about 317,400 robots today.

Why the US and EU Are Falling Behind.

Despite its tech leadership, the United States lags in robotics adoption, ranking 10th in global robot density. Europe faces similar issues, with Germany and other EU nations selling off industrial robotics assets to China over the past decade.

Meanwhile, South Korea and Japan, traditionally strong players, are struggling with declining birth rates and labor shortages, forcing them to automate at an unprecedented pace.

Google DeepMind has launched Gemini Robotics, an initiative to bring its Gemini AI models into the physical world for general-purpose robotics. Built on Gemini 2.0, this new vision-language-action (VLA) model enables robots to adapt, interact, and manipulate objects in real-world environments.
