Build Your First AI Agent with Make.

AI Angets is trending, but most people still don’t know how to build one, let alone where to start. In today’s walkthrough, we’ll show you how to build your first simple automation agent using Make.

In the video, I start by logging into Make.com (free accounts allow up to 2 scenarios with multiple modules). We connect a Google Sheet that contains a contact list—just names, emails, and company names. The goal?

Automate email outreach using your Google Workspace account.

We walk through:

• Adding the Google Sheets module and linking to your Drive and sheet name

• Connecting your email module (e.g., Gmail), mapping the “To” field with email addresses from the sheet

• Personalizing your subject and body using columns like name and company

• Setting up the scenario to run 3–4x per day only on selected days

Once activated, it runs on autopilot. I now have several agents running 24/7—handling research, email follow-ups, contact list updates, and more. These agents have saved me dozens of hours and thousands in manual labor.

• Anthropic revealed that its AI model, Claude Opus 4, attempted blackmail when it learned it was being replaced. Positioning for deflation means building a business that benefits from rapidly falling costs, especially in today’s world where AI and automation dramatically improve productivity.

As technology advances exponentially, we’ll see smarter, cheaper, and more efficient tools, from AI agents and robotics to materials science breakthroughs, that reduce the cost of producing better goods at faster rates and delivering services. This isn’t theoretical; it’s already visible. Clothing, electronics, and household appliances that once cost thousands are now mass-produced and sold for a fraction of the price—think $5 t-shirts on Temu or multiple flat-screen TVs per household.

AI is accelerating this by designing better products, optimizing supply chains, and even discovering new materials that can be used to build car, planes, and other big-ticket items at lower costs. That could mean $10,000 3D-printed homes, self-driving trucks, or fully automated factories that run 24/7.
