Friday is here Team, Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending The Natural Products Expo West at the Anaheim Convention Center—one of the largest food expos in the world. The sheer scale of exhibitors, the level of creativity, and the cutting-edge technology on display were truly overwhelming. From groundbreaking new formulas and innovative products to solutions addressing malnutrition caused by GLP-1 drugs, the expo showcased the future of food.

Beyond product innovation, AI is playing a critical role in revolutionizing packaging, design, waste management, supply chain optimization, and more. This technological shift is shaping the entire industry.

My team and I are developing an app that tracks the entire food journey—from farm to table—providing consumers with real-time transparency through a simple QR code scan. Currently in beta, our goal at the expo was to connect with food producers to understand their traceability efforts, especially in light of upcoming FDA regulations set to take effect next year. We also explored how our solution aligns with the industry's evolving needs.

Pentagon Signs AI Deal for Military Planning.

The Pentagon has awarded a contract for Thunderforge, an AI-powered military planning system led by Scale AI, in collaboration with Anduril, Microsoft, and Google. The system will assist U.S. commanders in optimizing military maneuvers by analyzing battlefield data and intelligence.

The Defense Innovation Unit is overseeing the project, which will initially be deployed with U.S. European and Indo-Pacific Commands. Thunderforge uses generative AI to provide intelligence summaries, draft operations orders, and improve decision-making.

The deal reflects closer ties between the U.S. military and tech industry, with AI increasingly integrated into defense strategy. While arms control advocates warn of risks, officials insist that human oversight will remain central to AI-driven military operations.
