Rebellious Grok, Is Musk’s AI platform ready to compete with ChatGPT?

Elon Musk has introduced Grok, an AI bot from his new company xAI, to compete with OpenAI's ChatGPT. This prototype is touted to surpass ChatGPT 3.5 in various benchmarks, it can crack jokes, has access to X data, aims to be more up-to-date than other AI with static databases, and is designed to respond with wit and a touch of rebellion.

Currently, in testing with select U.S. users, Grok will eventually become available to all X Premium+ subscribers. This launch aligns with Musk's broader vision for X to evolve into a comprehensive app similar to WeChat in China, with Grok as a key component. Musk went from petitioning a temporary halt in AI progression to developing Rebellious Grok, which we are yet to see how biased and safe it is. Concurrently, U.S. President Joe Biden has signed an executive order to regulate AI standards for security and privacy, which was a topic of discussion at the recent UK's AI Safety Summit.

OpenAI to unveil more updates and Tools for ChatGPT

OpenAI's DevDay (11/6 at 10 AM) is poised to bring significant updates for AI developers, potentially making it more cost-effective to create AI applications. There's a buzz about a new ChatGPT prototype called Gizmo V8, which is said to include features like model selection, customizable GPT models, and a tool named "Magic Maker." Leaks suggest this prototype could allow users to create their own GPTs and manage them via a "My GPTs" dashboard.

OpenAI may also unveil a "Team" plan for ChatGPT with perks like unlimited GPT-4 use and advanced data analysis. These updates could reduce application development costs by a substantial margin, add vision capabilities to AI tools, and extend the context length for processing larger texts. If true, these enhancements could greatly benefit businesses and developers by reducing expenses and fostering innovation in fields like entertainment and medicine. For marketers, the potential integration of ChatGPT with platforms like Google Drive and Microsoft 365, along with the advanced features, could revolutionize marketing analytics, content creation, and customer engagement strategies. We will discuss all the new updates on our Wednesday edition and on our social media channels, stay tuned.

Is it possible to Enforce AI Watermarking to tackle misinformation?

The executive order by President Biden takes aim at AI-created disinformation by advocating for watermarking and content authentication tech. Despite laying the groundwork for federal agencies to incorporate these tools, it lacks a compulsory directive, sparking debate over the real-world applicability of AI regulation.

To reinforce the order and its aims, consider a structured approach:

  1. Impose required adoption within certain agencies and industries.

  2. Set forth explicit, actionable standards and enforce them.

  3. Engage with tech companies for integrated tech solutions.

  4. Allocate funding for research to overcome tech limitations.

  5. Execute periodic audits to ensure adherence, with updates as needed.

  6. Establish legal ramifications for failure to comply.

This framework doesn't promise full control over AI's misinformation potential but seeks to strengthen preventive measures. In the face of AI's widespread adoption and varied regulations globally, and considering that tech has never been contained, such proactive steps are vital to mitigate the dire misinformation spread.
